Expert Back Pain Treatment in Greenwood, SC

Back pain shouldn't keep you from the workouts, activities, and people you love. At Peak Performance Therapy Services in Greenwood, SC, we go beyond masking the pain — we find the root cause and build a personalized plan to get you stronger, more confident, and back to living fully. No insurance hassles. Just one-on-one, expert care from a team that genuinely invests in your results.

Back Pain That's Holding You Back From Your Life

You've tried resting, stretching, and pushing through — but the pain keeps coming back. Sound familiar? You're not alone, and you don't have to keep guessing.

You're Missing the Workouts You Love

Whether it's CrossFit, running, or hitting the gym, back pain forces you to the sideline. Every skipped session feels like a step backward — and the frustration of not knowing when (or if) you'll be back is exhausting.

Generic Treatment That Doesn't Stick

You've seen providers who handed you a sheet of exercises and sent you on your way. The pain faded briefly, then returned. Without addressing the true cause, temporary relief is all you get — and the cycle continues.

Fear of Making It Worse

You're modifying every movement, second-guessing every lift, and avoiding the things you love out of fear of re-injury. Living carefully isn't the same as living fully — and you deserve better than just 'managing' pain.

Why Greenwood Chooses Us for Back Pain Care

At Peak Performance Therapy Services, we don't just treat your back pain — we uncover what's causing it and build a plan to make sure it doesn't come back. Every visit is one-on-one with your therapist, focused entirely on you. We combine the best of performance physical therapy, hands-on manual techniques, and personalized strength work to help you move better, hurt less, and get back to the life you love.

  • 100% one-on-one care — your therapist is with you the entire session, every time

  • Performance-focused treatment that combines PT, manual therapy, and strength & conditioning

  • Between-session check-ins to track your progress and adjust your plan as you improve

"I came to Peak Performance with a thoracic back issue that had been bothering me off and on for a few years. It was affecting my workouts and my sleep. Now, I haven't had pain in some time, and my back doesn't bother me when I work out. Meredith was wonderful in helping me identify the issue and address the underlying problems causing the pain."

Our 3-Step Path to a Pain-Free, Stronger You

Step 1: Reform

We start with a thorough one-on-one evaluation to identify the true root cause of your back pain — not just where it hurts, but why. Using movement screens and hands-on assessment, we build a clear, personalized plan built around your body, your goals, and your life.

Step 2: Rebuild

With your plan in place, we get to work. Using hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, dry needling, and performance-focused techniques, we progressively restore your movement, reduce your pain, and rebuild the strength your body needs to stay healthy.

Step 3: Create

Recovery is just the beginning. We help you optimize your performance, prevent future injury, and confidently return to the sports, workouts, and activities you love — so you can keep doing them for years to come.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Peak Performance Therapy Services is a self-pay clinic, which means we do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide fully personalized, one-on-one care without the limitations that insurance-based models often impose on treatment time and approach. Many clients find that the quality and efficiency of care more than makes up for the out-of-pocket cost — and we're happy to provide documentation you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.

  • Yes, completely free. The Discovery Session is a complimentary 20-minute, one-on-one conversation with our team to help you determine whether Peak Performance is the right fit for your needs and goals. There's no pressure and no commitment — just an honest conversation about where you are and how we can help.

  • Traditional PT clinics often see multiple patients at once, use cookie-cutter protocols, and focus on symptom relief. At Peak Performance, every session is 100% one-on-one with your therapist. We identify the root cause of your back pain near me or wherever it presents, build a custom plan, and combine PT with performance training and strength work so you come back stronger — not just pain-free.

  • Dry needling is an advanced manual therapy technique that uses thin, sterile needles to target muscle trigger points, reduce tension, and improve mobility. It is particularly effective for back pain, muscle tightness, and chronic pain patterns. Dr. Meredith is certified in Dry Needling through AAOMT and uses it as part of a comprehensive treatment plan when appropriate.

  • Absolutely — that's one of our specialties. Dr. Meredith is a CrossFit enthusiast, amateur triathlete, and former competitive swimmer who understands how athletes move, train, and think. We regularly work with runners, CrossFitters, young athletes, weekend warriors, and active adults throughout the Greenwood area. We also offer Return-to-Sport Testing and Running Form Assessments.

  • Your Therapy Evaluation is a 60-minute, one-on-one session. Your therapist will take a detailed history, assess your movement patterns, identify the root cause of your pain or limitation, and work with you to build a personalized treatment plan. You'll leave your first appointment with clear next steps and a path forward — not a vague list of stretches.
